First Team Player Biographies
Brendan Degnan- Hendricken
One of the top all-around players in the Interscholastic League this season, Degnan was the Hawk's leading scorer
during the regular season. He averaged 16.6 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals per game during the regular
season. He notched 16 points with 5 assists and 4 rebounds in Hendricken's state-chmapionship win over Woonsocket.
Billy Baron- Hendricken
One of the best 3-point shooters in the state, Billy Baron averaged 15.8 points, 8 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 steals per 
game. Baron upped his averaage to 24.7 points per game in the playoffs. He sank four free throws in the final 17.1 
seconds of the state championship game to lift the Hawks to their unprecedented fifth consecutive state title. 
Jerell Gomes- Feinstein
Considered by most coaches and fans to be the best all-around player in the state. Gomes averaged 25 points, 7.7 
rebounds, 7.2 assists and 2.6 steals per game in helping lead Feinstein to a 13-3 regular-season record in Division II-
Central. He is the only repeat first-team All-Stater.
Antjuan Jones- Woonsocket
As Woonsocket's floor general and go-to player for most of the season, Jones helped captain the Villa Novans to the 
second-best record in Division I and to the Division I-North regular-season title. He averaged 18 points, 6.5 assists,
5 rebounds and 3 steals per game. 
Ashton Watkins- Classical
Selected as the Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year for his dominating play on the court and his hard work in the 
classroom. Watkins powered Classical to an 18-0 regular-season record and the Division II state title by averaging 20
points and 19 rebounds per contest.
