First Team Player Biographies
Bryan Yarce- Cranston West
The 5-10 playmaker and scorer led Cranston West to a 15-3 record during the regular season, the Division I
championship and the quarterfinals of the state tournament. He averaged 18.2 points and was at his best in
the big games. He sparked a rally from 13 points down against Central in the division championship game and
scored 29 in the overtime victory. He finished with 23 points in the one-point loss to North Providence in
the state quarterfinals. A 1,000 point scorer, he has not decided where he will go to school in the fall.
Robert Lewis- Central
This explosive player moved to the backcourt and enjoyed a breakout season. He was second in the state in
scoring (22.4), scored his 1,000th career point and led the Knights to the final of the Division I tournament
and the semifinals of the state tournament. He scored 26 points in his high school finale, a 77-74 double-
overtime loss to Tiverton. An athletic player, the 6-2 Lewis can handle the ball and rebound as well as score.
He plans to attend the Hyde School in Woodstock, Conn., in the fall.
Gunner Bjornson- Tiverton
The leading scorer in the Rhode Island Interscholastic League (23.7), Bjornson returned to Tiverton after a
year and a half at St George's and led the Tigers to a storybook season. They finished second in Division II
East and lost to Barrington in the Division II quarterfinals before upsetting LaSalle, Hendricken and Central
in the state tournament. He scored 33 points in the 77-74 double-overtime semifinal victory over Central.
His long 3-pointers thrilled the crowd. He is undecided about college, and a post-graduate year is a possibility.
Charles Correa- St. Raphael
The dynamic point guard was at his best during the state tournament, when he averaged 22 points, was 17 for
17 from the free-throw line and led the Saints to victories over West Warwick, North Providence and Tiverton
for the state championship. He was also solid during the regular season, averaging 16.7 points per game.
Kyle Morvan- Smithfield
A second-team All State selection last year, he moves up to the first team after averaging 20.5 points per game
while being double-teamed most of the season. He used his size (6-4, 200) to move people off the block to get
close to the basket for rebounds and leyups, his passing skill to find open teammates and his range to bury
15-footers and 3-pointers. A pitcher on the Sentinels' baseball team, he is considering post-secondary options.
